If you belong to a gym, you will probably notice that there are a few people who look good at every gym, but the majority work very hard for very little or no result. No wonder people find it hard to stick to living healthy life-styles. What people don’t realise is that it is mainly the food they are eating; not the exercise, that will determine whether or not they will lose weight.
I was recently injured for 8 months, and was unable to exercise, and my weight didn’t change. In fact, my body works so well, that I retained most of the muscle I had built up prior. Imagine doing nothing for 8 months and still having a six pack! This is because I eat foods that help me burn fat, and build muscle (even when I do very little). It sounds too good to be true right? It isn’t. Most fitness, weight loss, and food companies wouldn’t want you to know this, because it doesn’t make anyone any real money.
We are told that a low-fat, carb-rich diet full of whole grains is the secret to good health and weight loss. It is surprising to most, but this diet is actually a recipe for weight-gain. It might shock you but its the carbs that make you gain weight, and not the fat. In fact, when people eliminate fat from their diet, they often gain weight just from doing that because fat is the ONLY food that produces a hormone in the body that makes us feel satisfied (CCK). When we remove fat, we never feel satisfied. We may overeat and feel bloated, but still not satisfied, so we keep eating. And, too many carbs make us fat.
Cattle are fattened, not with fatty foods, but with low-fat grain. That is because the only food that can put fat on your body is something that produces insulin. The only food that produces insulin is a carbohydrate; sugar and grains. Any good biochemistry textbook will describe this process, so it is no secret. Yet, most people are completely unaware of this fact. Because of this fact, it is physiologically impossible for fat to make you fat! It may be hard to believe, but our family eats over a kilo of butter a week, in addition to the other fats we eat like coconut oil and animal fat.
Fat doesn’t cause heart disease either; this is another myth. The idea that fat caused heart disease originated in the 1950s, but was never actually proven. In fact, many studies have been initiated to prove the theory, but they have ended up proving the opposite. Fat is your friend! And it tastes great!
Make sure you eat natural fats like butter, coconut oil, and cold-pressed oils like olive oil and sunflower oil. Avoid vegetable oils, canola oil, spreads, and margarine.
My husband has always eaten the way we do at home, but still ate a bit of junk when he as out. Recently, he decided to change his eating and eat the way I do all the time, and he lost 14 kilos very quickly. We have also received feedback on the website about people who have struggled to lose weight, and the weight has now suddenly dropped off. One man lost 13 kilos in 3 week. One woman lost 12 kilos in 4 months, and another woman lost 10 kilos in 2 months.
Weight loss is so easy with the right information; it literally does drop off.
